Some Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)?A: CBT is a form of psychotherapy designed to focus on the relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In CBT, you come to recognize how each of these affects the others, and thus how better to control them. For example, negative thoughts (No one likes me) can lead to negative feelings (depression), which may lead to negative behaviors (isolation). CBT has been scientifically shown to be effective in a variety of clinical disorders. It is the primary form of psychotherapy practiced at PPS.
